GF Family Tips: Keep it Kid Friendly! #UdisGlutenFree

Since my daughter was first diagnosed with food allergies, and then later a gluten intolerance, I've made it my mission to have fun playing with food

It can be easy for kids with special diets to feel left out - missing birthday party or class treats, candies, or even something as simple as enjoying the same hot lunch their friends do at school.

By getting my daughter involved with me creating in the kitchen, we keep things exciting and fun by focusing on the great foods we can have!

That's why I'm so thankful for amazing brands, like Udi's Gluten Free, that offer us gluten free & allergy friendly products for our family.

Kids can get involved with you in the kitchen at any age - from something as simple as helping stir a bowl, later chopping vegetables, and eventually baking and cooking (with supervision).

My daughter helping me cook and prep has been such a blessing. Not only do I get to teach her about the yummy foods we are eating but it's great for learning basic math skills and fractions, as well.

She loves jumping in and taking ownership in the foods we make. This gives her a since of pride and inclusion. It's no longer "I can't have what they are eating", it's her proudly showing off "look what I made!"

We have oodles of cookie cutters which we use not only in baking, but to make fun shaped sandwiches, fruit cutouts, and even on our Udi's gluten free tortillas.

Those DIY Pizzables at the store are certainly not allergy friendly or gluten free, so we love making our own! They're great for lunches, dinner, or even when she has her friends over.

There are also tons of gluten free recipes and tips to be found on the Udi's Community page - be sure to check them out for great ideas & inspiration! You can also get social and follow Udi's on Facebook.

Get your kiddos in the kitchen with you and have them build their own yummy creations! Not only will they take a sense of pride in their food but they'll love making gluten free & allergy friendly foods fun
