{Charlotte's Web} Book Character Dress-Up Day + School Lunch!

Today is a special day at school for Little Miss: It's Book Character Dress-Up Day!

This is something her school does every year and all the kids (and staff) look forward to it.

This year, Little Miss had three choices she narrowed down and finally decided to be Fern from Charlotte's Web

Not only did we make her a fun costume/ outfit to fit the part, I had to make a Charlotte's Web themed lunch to go with it.

For lunch, I made Little Miss a tortilla pizza using an Udi's gluten, nut, soy, & dairy free tortilla.

Using cheese shreds, I created a spider web effect (like we've done on bagels before at Halloween) and spelled out "Some Pig", just like in the story.

I also packed carrot bites in a spider silcone cup, watermelon balls, and ham roll-ups. Ham... I know... a little morbid, but fit the bill. ;) lol

Lastly, there's a pig shaped cookie cut out. I cut it from an Enjoy Life Foods Soft Baked Snickerdoodle Cookie

Her costume was simple, really. Rolled-up jeans, plaid shirt, and pig tails in her hair.

She carried her stuffed animal pig, that she had already named Wilbur. We made him a little name tag that we added to his bow, as well.

I made Charlotte from black felt and black pipe cleaners. I sewed the pipe cleaners through it and lightly stuffed it, to give it a more 3D effect.

It's hard to see, but there's also dental floss coming from Charlotte to look like a web strung around her back.

I can't wait to hear all about everyone's costumes and her fun day when she gets home!

  1. Little Miss looks adorable!!! Her lunch is cute, too!
