Lunch Made Easy: Kentucky Derby
This year marks the 140th running of the Kentucky Derby. My friends and I happen to be having a get together tomorrow evening, fancy Derby hats and all. So fun!
Little Miss helped me decorate my crazy over-the-top hat a few weeks ago, which sparked me telling her more about the Derby and the traditions that go along with it.
I figured a fun Kentucky Derby school lunch, complete with roses (the official flower of the Derby) was in order!
Little Miss has a horseshoe sandwich made on Canyon Bakehouse gluten, nut, soy, & dairy free bread. It's filled with SunButter Natural No-Sugar Added with honey mixed in.
Also packed are two strawberry roses, carrot sticks, and a 1st place ribbon I made from a slice of my non-dairy cheese and a food safe marker.
Lunch is packed in an EasyLunchboxes container.
This is so adorable! I always love your clever lunch ideas; Little Miss is a lucky daughter. I'm watching the Kentucky Derby (on TV) with friends tomorrow, but I believe the central focus of the gathering will be the mint juleps, not the horses.
