Lunch Made Easy: SunButter & Honey Apple Sandwich #AllergyFriendly
It's been a beautiful weekend. I spent it with my best girl, Little Miss, on Saturday in the Ann Arbor & Detroit area for the day. Sunday is always filled with praise, worship, and reflection... and now once again, football. Yes, I'm an NFL junkie - sorry!
Sunday is also the day Little Miss and I love spending time in the kitchen together creating and coming up with yummy foods. Her SunButter & Honey Apple Sandwich is one of those delicious ideas.
{Allergy Friendly} Gluten, Peanut, Tree Nut, Dairy, & Soy Free:
SunButter is our preferred nut free alternative spread to peanut butter: It's made from sunflower seeds.
SunButter is gluten, tree nut, peanut, dairy, & egg free. It's Vegan & Kosher. It's technically soy free, as well. You can read their soy statement here.
We packed our sandwich on Udi's bread which is gluten, nut, soy, & dairy free. Also packed in her EasyLunchboxes container are carrot sticks, grapes, & kettle chips.
I keep our apple slices from browning by soaking them in apple juice for a few minutes.
I prefer the apple juice method over lemon or lime juice, as it doesn't effect the flavor.
This sandwich combo is a perfect mix of salty & sweet, while the apple slices also add a yummy crunch to the sammie.
Looks delicious, Keeley! And what gorgeous pix! And oh yeah, Go Blue! :)
ReplyDeleteThis looks really yummy-I've never tried soaking apples in apple juice but that's brilliant. My kids don't really love lemon flavored apples...but they won't eat browned ones either.
ReplyDeleteOoh, that combination sounds so good!
ReplyDeleteOh, I will be making that for my son! Thanks for the reminder that jelly (even my mom's homemade!) is not the only thing that goes with Sunbutter!
