Lunch Made Easy: A Week of {Allergy Friendly} School Lunches

Hey y'all! Life has been crazy busy, but good! That being said, I've decided to start doing round-up posts for Little Miss' school lunches for the week, in lieu of daily that I'm hurrying to complete (and often not spell checking, D'OH! lol).
There will still be some special MOMables Monday, holiday lunches, and recipes posted in between. I love you guys too much not to share all that I can!!
My goal is to post these on Friday, but I was gone at the end of last week at a Food Allergy Social Media Summit (more on this coming soon) so I am playing catch up. ENJOY!

Last Monday's lunch was included in our MOMables Monday post:

Lunch was packed in our new Spencer Bento Box from Pottery Barn Kids. It featured a dish of egg salad, turkey & cheese pinwheels on two heart picks, a cup of diced pears, apple chips, and a spinach side salad. Lunch is completely gluten & nut free. Omit the cheese or sub for rice/soy non-dairy cheese for dairy free. Want to go a step further? Bentoriffic told me about this yummy recipe for Eggless Salad from Happy Herbivore to make this lunchbox egg free, too!

Tuesday's lunch was simple with a turkey & cheese sammie on our MOMables homemade gluten free bread. Two picks hold the sandwiches together and add a bit of fun. Little Miss also has veggie chips, cauliflower, and mandarin oranges packed in her EasyLunchboxes container. Lunch is gluten free and nut free. Sub the cheese for dairy free, depending on the brand of bread you choose or how you make your recipe. The same bread notes for egg free too.

Wednesday is another MOMables inspired idea! A cheese stick with turkey rolled up around it and cut into 'sushi style' bites. Little Miss also has a cup of baby carrots, a Top 8 Free Enjoy Life Cocoa Loco bar, and apple chips packed in her LunchBots Duo. Lunch is gluten free, egg free, & nut free. Sub the cheese or omit and use a pretzel stick instead for dairy free

Thursday she had more pinwheels of meat and cheese on two long heart picks. Also included were Ener-G brand pretzels that are gluten free, casein/ dairy free, egg free, & nut free. Below are a small cup of blackberries and above baby carrots, along with a mini dipper filled with unsweetened applesauce packed in her EasyLunchboxes container.

Rounding out last week, Little Miss had SunButter and jelly sandwich bites on gluten free bread. SunButter is nut free, gluten free, vegan, kosher, egg free, and dairy free. Also packed in her EasyLunchboxes container are veggie chips, mandarin oranges, and blackberries.

    1. Thanks for your comment!
The lunches I feature are what my 7 year old, very active, kiddo eats daily. Her lunch period is only 20 minutes time and I can assure it's plenty of food for her needs. There are days she doesn't even have time to finish what I pack her (as shown) - then she brings it home in her bento and eats it after school for snack.
If you kiddo has a larger appetite, then simply pack larger portions than shown. Thanks!!

    1. Hi and thank you!!
It really depends on the meal and child. My daughter, thankfully, love showing off her lunch creations so she's not one to throw her bag around or toss it about. We also use a lunch cooler that holds her lunch containers flat. This keeps the food from being tossed and turned upsidown. Things may shift but for the most part everything stays where it is. Thanks!
