As I mentioned above, Wink Frozen Desserts are a delicious dessert that is free from sugar, fat, gluten, soy, nuts, dairy, & eggs. It's also Vegan, all-natural, Kosher, and non-gmo!
What exactly is it? Well, it's a low-calorie ice cream substitute. You can find the nutritional information and ingredients listing by clicking >>here<<.
Wink Frozen Desserts was started because the founder, Gabriel Wolff (who has Celiac Disease and a dairy intolerance) wanted to create a dessert option for those on restrictive diets and not have it be sugar laden, too fatty, or too bland.
What does it taste like? Before I get into the flavor breakdown, I wanted to mention my honest thoughts here -- When I first opened up one of my desserts straight from the freezer I thought it was "just okay". I'm not sure if I was expecting fireworks or ice cream explosions in my mouth, which is just silly by the way. As I kept trying the dessert, and the other flavors, I found out that it's really better if you let is soften up a bit before gorging eating a bowl. There's something that changes the texture so it's a bit more smooth and enjoyable like a typical ice cream. After figuring this out, Little Miss and I had no trouble gobbling up our pints!
What are the flavors? The variety pack comes with four flavors - Cinnamon Bun, Iced Latte, Cocoa-Dough, & Cake Batter.
I, personally, loved the Iced Latte! It reminded me of a blended coffee beverage by a place that rhymes with "marmucks". *wink wink*
Little Miss loved the Cake Batter and Cocoa-Dough best. She ended up adding a drizzle of chocolate syrup over her bowl of Cocoa-Dough (yeah yeah, adding sugar I know, but she's a kid and she was so happy to have such an awesome dessert)!
The Cinnamon Bun smells delicious! And the name does not lie - it's exactly what it tastes like. *Heaven* Now I need some more and a cup of coffee, stat!
ALL of the flavors are excellent with mix-ins to "kick them up a notch"! Try making it into an ice cream soda, banana split, frozen coffee beverage, or even revamped using popsicle molds!
