Today, I decided to remake one of Little Miss' absolute favorite Advent Lunches from last year ~ Up on the House Top!
{Only 19 More Sleeps Til' Christmas}
Little Miss has a "Santa in the Chimney" sandwich.
I made him using gluten free bread. A slice of provalone cheese, colored with food coloring and food safe markers tops it for the chimney effect. The edge is made from a crust scrap from the sandwich. Santa's hands are also made from cheese. His head is a cupcake pick that fits oh-so-perfectly inside. Surrounding him is marshmallow snowfall.
She also has two organic mini apples (I love how these fit perfectly inside her EasyLunchbox and she can eat, even with all her missing teeth at the moment) in the upper left compartment with baby carrots on the right.
We always leave apples and carrots out for Santa every year for his reindeer.
I love sticking her Christmas Lunchbox Love Notes in her lunch box, as well. A sweet saying and fun fact always make her smile! She enjoys sharing the fun facts with her classmates.
Allergy Friendly Notes:
- This lunch is gluten, peanut, and tree nut free.
- Depending on the brand of bread you choose, this lunch is egg free.
- Again depending on the brand of bread, by subbing the cheese for rice or soy based non-dairy cheese and omitting or using a different medium for the snowfall, this lunch can easily be made dairy free.
